yesterday morning on TODAY i saw an inspirational segment with jenna bush hager.  while i love her i always end these segments feeling so bad for her because she seems so nervous.  but i digress

her segment was about the SEED schools in washington dc and maryland.  The segment high lighted how 100% of the seniors are graduating and 100% are going on to college, with one student even going on to MIAMI!!!!

The students come from high risk situations and are boarded at the school monday-friday and go home for  the weekend.  the stories were amazing and the student seems truly thankful for the chance they were given.

After graduation next spring i would love to get the chance to work at a school such as SEED.  while i have reservations with working with intercity student i would love to change lives.  this is why i switched to teaching.  i am currently struggling with the idea of staying in the private school system or switching to public.  a charter school might be the compromise i need!
